GSI Services - Meet the Inspector

Grover Smiley is a retired building inspector/official and retired Fire Marshal with the City of Charlottesville, VA. With over 20 years experience in the construction and inspection trades, and a former construction company owner, he has become certified as a master plumber, electrician and gas fitter.

In addition to operating GSI Services, Mr. Smiley also teaches for the University of Maryland’s inspections and codes course and travels to military bases to certify fire marshals to NFPA standards.

The National Home Inspector Examination
Currently adopted and/or recognized by twenty-one states for home inspector regulation, The National Home Inspectors Exam is also a membership requirement for the American Institute of Inspectors and American Society of Home Inspectors; is accepted by the National Association of Home Inspectors and the Florida Association of Building Inspectors; and is reimbursed by the US Veterans' Administration for military personnel re-entering the workforce.
