Grover Smiley is a retired building inspector/official and retired Fire Marshal with the City of Charlottesville, VA.
With over 20 years experience in the construction and inspection trades, and a former construction company owner, he has become
certified as a master plumber, electrician and gas fitter.
In addition to operating GSI Services, Mr. Smiley also
teaches for the University of Maryland’s inspections and codes course and travels to military bases to certify fire
marshals to NFPA standards.
